Analyst Video – Maverick Gold and Silver Advances Nevada Gold Project

SSR Mining’s proposed acquisition of Roxmore Resources has brought renewed attention to Nevada’s Battle Mountain gold district. The transaction carries an estimated enterprise value of US$392 million, highlighting what established producers may pay for large gold resources.

In an eResearch interview, Chris Thompson speaks with Peter Baxter, Senior Advisor at Maverick Gold and Silver (CSE: MAV | FWB: VR61 | OTC: VRCFF). They discuss the transaction’s implications for Maverick’s Gator Project in Nevada, geological similarities with Roxmore’s Converse deposit, and preparations for drilling.

Converse Acquisition Provides a Nevada Valuation Benchmark

The Converse Project contains approximately 5.1 million ounces of gold resources, including indicated and inferred ounces. Baxter estimates the acquisition value at roughly US$75 per resource ounce, compared with historical Nevada valuations of US$100 to US$200.

Importantly, Converse and Gator share geological characteristics, including calcareous rocks of the Havallah Formation and evidence of buried intrusive systems. Baxter believes these similarities support further exploration at Gator, although the project has no established mineral resource.

Gator Moves Closer to Its First Drilling Program

Maverick recently received acceptance of its Notice of Intent from the Bureau of Land Management. The program covers eight drill sites across Gator South and GSX. However, the company must post a reclamation bond before drilling.

The earn-in agreement requires at least 2,000 metres of drilling within two years. Baxter hopes to complete that amount during the initial program, subject to financing. Maverick also plans to advance its Jericho Project in Nevada, following earlier drilling at its Silver Vista Silver-Copper property in British Columbia.
