eResearch | Today’s Video-of the-Day is from InvestmentPitch Media about Great Atlantic Resources Corp. (TSXV:GR) as the Company received a permit for a Phase 2 drill program at their Golden Promise Gold Property, located within the central Newfoundland gold belt.
Based in Vancouver, Great Atlantic is a Canadian exploration company focused on the discovery and development of mineral assets in Newfoundland and New Brunswick, and is building the company utilizing a Project Generator model.
The permit allows for up to 25 drill holes at the Jaclyn Zone located within the northern region of the Golden Promise Property that hosts five gold bearing quartz veins systems.
The 2020 drill program will test east of the Jaclyn North Zone, along strike and in areas of high-grade quartz boulders, and also include in-fill drilling of the Jaclyn Main Zone. The Jaclyn North Zone is located approximately 250 meters north of the Jaclyn Main Zone.
During 2017, Great Atlantic excavated high-grade quartz boulders in trenches east of the Jaclyn North Zone along its projected strike. Assays of the quartz boulder samples included results of 163.9, 208.5 and 332.6 grams per tonne gold (“g/t Au”).
In 2019, Great Atlantic completed 10-hole, 1063 metre, Phase 1 drill program at the site, which resulted in highlight holes including:
- Hole 137: 12.37 g/t Au over 1.90 meters, and
- Hole 144: 61.35 g/t Au over 2.04 meters.
In 2018, the Company reported a NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for the Jacelyn Main Zone containing a capped Inferred Resource of 106,400 ounces.
The Golden Promise Gold Property hosts multiple gold bearing quartz veins and is located within a region of recent gold discoveries, including Marathon Gold Corporation (TSX:MOZ) at the Valentine Lake Gold project (NI 43-101 resource of 4 million ounces Au), New Found Gold (TSXV:NFG) at the Queensway project and Sokoman Minerals (TSXV:SIC) at the Moosehead Gold project.
