CES: Innovative Health Tech Gadgets Expected in 2020

The digital health market is forecasted to reach US$509B by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 27.7%

  • Sleep Number is launching its new smart bed which is self-adjustable for temperature and softness, and is able to provide analysis for circadian rhythms and heart rate variability.

  • OrCam Hear is a hearing aid product that is worn around the neck which allows the wearer to isolate the voice of different subjects around them and stream it to their bluetooth hearing aids in real-time.

    AARP has launched the HomeFit AR, an app that uses augmented reality to analyze rooms and provide suggestions on how to increase safety for seniors.

  • Singular Hearing launched its AI driven application called HeardThat, which analyzes and separates speech from background noise, allowing the hearing impaired to use their phone for aid.

Medical

  • Lenus Freedom has developed a prototype product that can fit a physician with an electric nerve field stimulator within 5 minutes.
  • PainCareLabs has developed a prototype for its product, DuoTherm, which allows the manipulation of nerve activity connected to back pain through heat and vibration.

Relief and Therapy

    Tivic Health is awaiting FDA Clearance for its product ClearUP Sinus Pain Relief, a device which uses bioelectrical stimulations to relieve sinus pains.

  • Healium is an app and platform for stress relief that analyzes a user’s brain patterns and heart rate to create virtual and augmented realities that reduce stress.

  • Morph Wear has developed a wearable device that allows swimmers to track their motion, acceleration, and orientation under water.

    W2ND is a wearable monitor that can monitor the user’s heart rate as well as the user’s lactic threshold through an application.

  • ORIG3N launched its series of DNA tests that uses genetic analysis to figure out how different foods and nutrients specifically affect the participant’s metabolism, fitness, and health.

According to Grandview Research, the digital health market is forecasted to reach US$509 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 27.7%.

Technology has made it possible for consumers to analyze, monitor, and treat themselves through applications and devices which are easy to use and interpret.

It will be interesting to see how the competitive landscape develops for health tech applications and devices as society changes with consumers taking a better sense of responsibility for monitoring and analyzing their own bodies and habits.
