AME Roundup: Project Generators Spark Momentum for the Mining Industry

Midland Exploration and Commander Resources Seek Joint Venture Partners

Vancouver – Speculators should not overlook Project Generators when diversifying their portfolios. The AME Roundup 2020 featured several companies that specialize in generating exploration ideas into active projects.

The project generator model mitigates risk by exposing shareholders to the potential of multiple mineral discoveries, while conserving capital and managing equity dilution, according to the Association for Mineral Exploration.

Midland Exploration Inc. (TSXV:MD)

Midland Exploration - logo - smallerMario Masson, vice president, exploration at Midland Exploration Inc., said the company is the most active project generator in Quebec.

Quebec has great potential, stated Sylvain Trepanier, vice president, exploration of James Bay and Northern Quebec. “There’s a 45% tax incentive, and the rules are clear between the government and First Nations.”

Midland targets Quebec’s prolific mineral potential to discover deposits of gold, platinum group elements, base metals and rare earth elements. “[Midland] is not dependant on one metal,” Masson added.

With 30 projects currently in progress, Midland recently acquired a project in January 2020 with strong gold potential, located near the recent Patwon gold discovery by Azimut Exploration, Inc. (TSXV:AZM)

Commander Resources Ltd. (TSXV:CMD)

Commander Resources - logoSteve Wetherup, vice president, exploration at Commander Resources Ltd., said the Canadian-focused mineral explorer has pursued the project generator model for 30 years.

Commander Resources has three active joint ventures with partners Freeport-McMoRan (NYSE:FCX) and Imperial Metals (TSX:III) in British Columbia for copper, and Fjordland Exploration (TSXV:FEX) in Labrador for nickel.

Looking to capitalize on the uptick of gold, Commander Resources is looking for partnerships for its Flume Gold Property in Yukon and its Sabin Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) Project in Ontario. “Our goal is to become a royalty company,” Wetherup said.
