Moving into 2020, AI assistants are becoming more connected to various home products while drones are starting to be used for security applications and situations too dangerous for humans. Below are examples of new technologies and gadgets expected to be seen in 2020, with many to be introduced at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show held by the Consumer Technology Association.

AI assistants and smart living
Expectation of additional IoT applications such as finding lost remotes and managing heart rate monitors.
Samsung expected to release a smart home speaker powered by its AI assistant, Bixby.
Eliptic Labs has developed a system for speakers that will allow it to use radar sensors to detect owners, which could be used to trigger reminders or adjust volume based on distance.
Smart IoT Labs has developed Miranda, a smart assistant that issues commands based on past behavior.
Food and Health
Lecker Labs has developed a product that creates a single serve yogurt snack through a pod system in which you add milk.
Mitte has developed a product that allows you to enhance drinking water with minerals through a cartridge filtration system.
LG has developed HomeBrew, a craft beer brewing system which uses single-use capsules containing malt, yeast, and hop oil.
Lumen has developed a prototype for a product that analyzes the carbon dioxide concentration in the air to figure out its effect on a person’s metabolism.
Televisions
LG is expected to introduce its roll-up concept television, which allows the screen to roll inwards using its MicroLED tech.
Samsung is expected to launch its 8K televisions, which have up to four times the pixels current 4k televisions have.
Medical
Lenus Freedom has developed a prototype product that can fit a physician with an electric nerve field stimulator within 5 minutes.
PainCareLabs has developed a prototype for its product, DuoTherm, which allows the manipulation of nerve activity connected to back pain through heat and vibration.
Smart Phones and Other Computers
Flexible phones are expected to launch from Royale, Samsung, LG, and Huawei.
Mobile Pixels has developed a screen that can be attached to the back of the main monitor, which can be pulled out to add additional screen space.

DJI is introducing a new drone model that can split screen feeds for normal and infrared vision, which can be used for aerial searches.
Sunflower Labs is adding motion-detecting lights to drones to offer increased home security against intruders.
Youcan Robot developed an underwater drone that can replace human divers who dangerously inspect boat hulls and underwater piping.
Transport
Expected launch of Pal-V Liberty, a petrol-powered commercial flying vehicle with fold-out rotary blades on the roof and rear.
Expected launch of solar-powered vehicles.
Pragma Industries is expected to launch the first hydrogen fuel driven bicycle which will have double the range compared to lithium ion batteries.
Expectation of additional software features for vehicles with increased application to various IoT products.
Blockchain and Cryptocurrency
Expansion of uses in cryptocurrencies to tokens that peg values to real assets and stable currencies.
Pigzbe has developed a handheld digital wallet driven by its cryptocurrency, Wollo, for children to use instead of pocket cash to better help manage money.
China’s government is expected to launch its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), a self-governed cryptocurrency.
Facebook is expected to launch its own cryptocurrency, Libra, which previously released backlash from regulators when first introduced.
