I had the opportunity to meet Toronto’s Mayor John Tory at the 2019 Collision Conference in Toronto, Canada.

John Tory is a Canadian politician and businessman who has served as the 65th Mayor of Toronto. A member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Tory’s political career has been marked by a focus on fiscal responsibility and urban development.

Tory’s tenure as Mayor has seen a commitment to collaborative governance and stakeholder engagement. He has navigated complex relationships between municipal, provincial, and federal governments, seeking to secure resources and support for Toronto’s growth and infrastructure needs.

Prior to entering politics, Tory’s business career included roles in law, telecommunications, and broadcasting. He co-founded Rogers Cable and later held executive positions within Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B), contributing to the company’s growth.
